Elimination of planktonic green algae from my pond and waterfall?
I have a new pond and waterfall without fish. I think it approximately 300 gallons. I do not think Never put fish in it. I am in South Florida, with much direct sunlight all day, and some plants nearby. Because it's very hot here and the waterfall is running, I must add water to my pool every two days. I also algae planktonic that turned nasty green water. I tried all Fountec Clorox, with daily brushing and scraping. Nothing kills the algae or my water returns to its original clarity. I read in the barley straw, a microbe, a lift, and many other products, but I'm confused. Any Help is appreciated! The main problem is sunlight as you say its very hot here in Florida in Oz. For this failure is a real planted throughout the site with Lush tropical plants, ferns and later near the waterfront (mist / splash this fall, will create a suitable microclimate).
