Do aquarium accessories really matter?

Is there reason to have gravel in the aquarium? Marble, because I think it looks good. The only Another thing that is a skull with fake teeth and all. This is a 10-liter tank and I think to get a Betta. What other accessories at low prices should I expect? Fake plants?

A natural habitat betta water with little or no power, and choked with plants. The best type to get Live Plants, Silk Plants, but good.
