Im starting an aquarium and I do not know how long to keep the lights on?
It is a power light compact and also need to know by turning lights off when lights should turn on the moon?
Timers are the best friends of a seal's! We have a reef 125 VHO two (2 each blue and white) and MH (175W x2) (We SPS, LPS & Soft) timers are configured for blue lights come on 1 one at a time starting around 7:30. Whites, who came one by one and all VHO are 9am (just like the last dawn hours on the reef) MH come in about 12 hours and remain around 8 hours. The whole process works in reverse (the sun) with the latest Out of Blue 10:30 h, for a total of about 14 hours of light. I have no lights of the moon so I can not say, but I think you want to simulate the phases of the moon also, if possible with timers. Check schedule and therefore light.
