It is my aquarium heater broken? or is my thermostat?
Hey, UM has a question about my aquarium heater. Well, I bought a 10-gallon tank for my Betta fish (used to be in a tank of 2.5 liters), but the heater is not working. I a 50 Watt Submersible heater Tetra. The red light comes on, but the thermometer indicates the water is 56 F. Water is supposed to be 78 F. I thought it was the thermometer so I put in hot water and liquid red rose. Is hot water or a thermometer. I really need help so that I know I have to buy a new water heater. I'm new to Yahoo Answers for all answers are appreciated. I had the heater in the tank for 2 weeks and the temperature was 56F. The heater is preset. It has a thermostat that keeps water in 78F
Although upgarding tank for the Betta. Firstly, how long had the heating work? It takes time for hot water. You may want to recheck later.If temperature thermometer reads the same, then I sure do go back to your furnace and get a new one. In your water heater to 78 degrees? Play around with it and see how the temperature of the bed. Heaters are almost never accurate when it comes to what they say is the temperature.
