Can a black light in the room hurt my fish or reptiles?

I recently bought a black light and I wonder if UV rays will hurt my four tanks of reptiles and fish. I have three lizards, a tarantula, a bullhead catfish, yellow, and various guppies, shrimp, algae and freshwater pleco. Will it hurt any of my animals, or mutate? I will put on their tanks, if I can help. This is a 17 watt, 24 inches, black light. Thank you.
