The differences between fluorescent and incandescent lamps in the aquarium?
I wondered if it was better for plants? The bell was thinking of buying has a "screw fixing – in order to connect to the bulb-shaped end of the regular Light Bulb – and take a 15-bulb Watt incandescent, or a 10 Watt Bulb flourscent … the package says that 10-watt incandescent flourscent is equivalent to 50 watts. Someone can clarify this point? Thank you a bunch
Incandescent lighting is almost useless for growing plants … Its range is only about 3000 K (spectrum of the ideal plant is between 6,500 K and 6,700 K or 10,000 K) which is mainly used by plants. Not only are fluorescent much better for plants, which offer more colors of your fish and much longer than incandescent. It was an incandescent light, lasts about 4 months in one of my tanks, fluorescent tubes, while my more than 6 months and costs less to operate. Incandescent lighting often makes tanks look very yellow or pink, while the standard fluorescent lighting will cast a light, fresh white in your tank, fish and plants (including fluorescent lamps economy are more effective for growing plants that shine, but the range of 10 Light Bulbs are very specific above). Depending on the depth of your tank it is better to throw everything together existing canopy and replace it with a hood that one or more fluorescent lamps (tubes illuminate the tank itself, while Compact Fluorescent lamps may be more uneven).
