Marine Aquarium lighting?
After a trip to the Great Barrier Reef Now I've become my tropical Aquarium Tank Marina. I work animals, but never been treated with a marine aquarium. For corals and Saltwater fish, can I have both blue and white? or just the blue light on the reflector? "
Congratulations for the reefing of error. Great entertainment, I am sure you will love. The lighting will buy depends on the animals they want to keep. If you plan to keep the fish inverts, LPS corals and some soft and easy, then you can use LED T5 or MH lighting. Some of the easiest to keep soft corals (eg, ZOA, leather, Xenia, mushrooms, Palythoa of anthellia) would be in the proper power PC (Power Compact). If you decide to keep hard corals harder, SPS, then I would certainly use MH or T5 lighting. LED is the new wave of enlightenment that comes on the market reefs. But there are still many bugs to resolve. Therefore I recommend you get feet wet with some other forms of lighting available. In answer to your question Blue White face. Their need for light used in coral Target (10,000 K-14, 000K) to maintain the symbiotic algae living in coral polyps. This symbiotic algae called zooxanthalae. The blue spectrum is also important but not as important as whites. Actinic blue light is typically used as supplemental lighting.
