Tank Canister

Try using a filter sea water on an old boat new aquarium Water tank with turtles?.

I have this bottle Filter Fluval 405 off eBay and I suspect it was used in a saltwater tank. If it is used in a saltwater tank, what should I do to clean to use in my freshwater tank that has red-eared Slider turtles in it. Furthermore, Fluval Filter has much white circle attached, I thought it was dirt stuck inside the filter, but now I think it could be tumors or accumulation of calcium. Can anyone help me? Thank you.

All you have to do is to rinse well to remove salt. The "white circle things" could be deposits of calcium in the case of a ring around the inside tubes or filters, but is generally well outside the filter. If they are each just a little dot / coil like a piece of marine substrate, but stuck Inside, are cases of a small species of fanworm who builds his own tube. They are usually attached to rocks or glass, but they give you also inside the filters and skimmers. Do not hurt anyone, and if water is everywhere less than 7.0 pH gradually dissolve in time.
