Imports of ornamental fish in the U.S. from India?
I was born in India in 1970, but have lived in the United States since 1979. Recently, I visited India for the first time since my departure. I am from Guwahati, a city of about one million north-west India in Assam. My parents are guardians lovers and breeders of fish in a fairly large scale. The subtropical climate is not different From Florida or Texas. Focusing mainly on native species such as danios Glowlight (choprae rerio). I see these small fish retail for about $ 4 each in the United States. If I could get a carton of 300, probably 250 would survive air cargo travel. This means that air transport would be about 60 cents per fish. I wish my parents pay about 10 cents per fish (alive or dead) for fish. Can $ 1.50-1.75 per fish for big? Any idea which to buy? I want to make a box or two boxes per week. 10 or 25 pounds each. Thank you.
Firstly I think it would be a exporter in India, and a U.S. importer to buy fish. This means that an approved exporter in India is to send the fish, and a person licensed as an importer of "beasts" is released in the U.S.. Regarding the sale, I think it would sell a large quantity EPA or your local wholesalers or district, because cost wise, would be much cheaper, even after air travel in India. The only problem you may face is the transit time. He would charge a minimum of 14-18 hours from the starting point so, (with you). Fish survive so long, even if the foam and the peroxide packaging?
