Keeping Convict Cichlids with other fish, help greatly appreciated!!?

Well, i have just bought myself a new fish tank with a filter, heater and light and i am currently ‘cycling’ it. While it is cycling i am trying to think of what fish (tropical) to put in it. I have decided that i like the look of three different types of fish and i am wondering if you can keep them together or not?

Fish 1: Neon Tetra (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neon_tetra)
Fish 2: Siamese Fighting Fish (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siamese_fighting_fish)
Fish 3: Convict Cichlid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convict_cichlid)

Any help/information would be highly appreciated!

Hehehe! Wish you could put those together but..uhh..no. Neons need to be with other non-aggressive schooling fish. Siamese fighters are basically “Betta” fish, and no, can’t put them with others unless you want to watch a battle and especially not a Cichlid of any sort! Every fish you list requires different needs and has different temperaments so it sounds like the best thing for you to do is go to your local fish store and have them help you decide what the best set up is for you.
